The Foundations of Grace Episcopal Church

GRACE EPISCOPAL CHURCH, founded in 1859, is a parish in union with The Episcopal Church, which welcomes all who worship Jesus Christ.  We strive to bring hope and healing to a broken world by living into our baptismal covenant, knit together in an inclusive and affirming community through bonds of affection and the Book of Common Prayer. We are a part of the Episcopal Diocese of Chicago, headed by Bishop Jeffrey Lee.

“The ability to question and doubt, is, in my experience, the real beginning of a mature journey of faith.

That spiritual journey has to wrestle with the inadequate images of God so eagerly touted by some. For example, if we assume that God is primarily interested in judgment rather than in human flourishing, we’ve missed a good deal.”

-ECUSA Presiding Bishop Katharine Jefferts Schori
